The KG2 has always had a great reputation in the piano world, helping establish Kawai as a top tier manufacturer.  Kawai really found a sweet spot with the KG2’s scale design: it combined warmth, color, a lovely singing tone, and a very responsive touch that made it a pleasure to play.

Because of its excellent build quality, the 5’ 10” KG2 was popular with conservatories, private teachers, churches, and small venues.  A used KG2 in good condition is still a very viable instrument for a serious pianist who desires a piano that will perform at a high musical level.  It was the predecessor to the well-known RX2 and the current GX2.
